The award winning London Urban Arts Academy is a passionate, inspiring and effective youth arts organisation specialising in music and the creative arts. It was established through pure passion for improving lives and sharing skills — we go the extra mile to improve the lives of young people, and to make a difference to the present street culture...because we care!
The academy's aims are to create a fun safe-haven for young people where they can participate in positive activities to help them gradually build confidence, self-esteem and enable them to further their abilities in different fields of life-skills, training and development.
We strive to build a network for young people to access and get involved in a safe and positive environment. Young people are easily lead astray into negative street activities and everyday social issues — we are there to act as a preventative measure to avoid such encounters.
Through experience and research we know that when young people find a genuine interest or hobby, then their time is invested in a productive manner and distracts them when they would otherwise be bored or unmotivated.
Once completing an accredited course we aim to support and assist onto further education, motivational training and employment by employing within the academy and referring to other partnership organisations.
All tutors specialise in working with hard-to-reach young people and use their vast experience and knowledge to deliver a high standard of service!

"Throughout my time as a dancer I have seen the interest in dance growing and we always get a huge response from new young talent coming through who want to join TNT, for us to feature in music videos and make their own groups, which is why we have joined forces with the London Urban Arts Academy & Flawless crew (BGT) to give back and make a difference" TNT Dancers

"The London Urban Arts Academy delivered an excellent specialised course to young people as part of the Greenwich Summer University that was both lively and focused. "It has been a pleasure to work in partnership with Academy over the last couple of years. They have shown dedication and commitment to the projects at our youth centre and the young people have responded with great enthusiasm for the DJ'ing and Mc'ing projects. A young person who attended a DJ course in June said - 'More people know me and I feel more confident speaking on the mic to them. Over the summer I DJ'ed more and spoke on the mic and taught other people. I also showed older people how to use the decks' " Kate Smith, Youth Development Worker, Oasis Enfield/EIYCT
"The London Urban Arts Academy is an organisation that is very forward thinking and very driven by what the community wants in particular young people....it has a very good understanding of partnership work and is very happy to listen to new ideas....but most importantly it has a real passion for the arts and teaching young people how to be the best in this field" Alkas Rahman, L&Q
